Editing With Styles-- A workshop for the St. Louis Publishers Association  Bud Banis, PhD, CMA, who teaches computer coursework at UMSL, presented a demo on working with styles and large document editing in WORD.  He covered styles, table of contents and beginning indexing.

There was be a treatment of how to fix problem manuscripts, and some tricks and tips that he covers in his computer course at UMSL. http://www.umsl.edu/~rbanis/103/wordexc.htm   Each participant went home with a booklet on working with styles in WORD and a CD ROM of video tutorials that demonstrate principles and methods as shown at the UMSL website.

 

The St. Louis Publishers Association

is a professional publishing organization to promote the publishing excellence and the success of its members. It is an affiliate of the Publishers Marketing Association (PMA) and a partner of the Small Publishers Association of North America (SPAN).
SLPA  meets at The Heights, 8001 Dale Avenue, on the second Wednesday of every month. Networking begins at 6:30 p.m., and the meeting begins at 7:00. That's just south of Highway 40 and just east of Hanley Road. If  you are exiting from eastbound Highway 40 onto southbound Hanley, you will need to make an immediate left turn onto Dale Avenue.
Dress comfortably. Either casual attire or business attire is fine. Be sure to bring your books for display on our Books-in-Print table. Admission is free for members and $5.00 for non- members.
